Oil paintings of Burgundy –
In late August I was invited to Burgundy for a few days, and was blessed with lovely warm and dry weather. Here are some of my oil paintings of Burgundy.
This is the village of Santenay which nestles in the Cote D’Or wine region. I painted it from the hill behind the village, therefore this original oil painting clearly shows the vineyards. Other features are the Domaine houses with the chateau beyond. The next day I spotted two houseboats on the nearby canal Centrale, at Chagny. Here I spent an enjoyable day painting these, in the company of local professional artist, Jean-Claude Bligny.
I especially enjoyed capturing the reflections on the water in both paintings.
These and more are now in my shop / gallery page, latest works. Do take a look.
Oil paintings of Burgundy is such a wonderful place to paint, yet many artists, race past it, on their speedy way to the mediterranean coast.

She kindly took me on a tour of some local vineyards where she was well known to the proprietors. There, in the cellars, we sampled some of their finest output and I settled on a few bottles of my favourites to bring back home. Superb!
