It’s exhibition time again – time for my 4th solo exhibition at York Street Gallery in Ramsgate
It’s Exhibition Time Again,
Since my last major exhibition 2 years ago, I have painted over 230 fresh paintings. These were mostly on location and in all weathers, which means I capture the passion of the moment. I also threw in a few studio still life’s when the weather was too cold. It can be forbidding, working out doors for hours at a time,in very cold weather.
Working this way ensures that I capture the vagaries of the changing weather and light conditions, meaning I capture those sudden unexpected shadows and highlights. Sunlight on the water, or sunsets, as they happen, are the trickyest to manage, yet are most rewarding.
It brings ‘life’ to the work, which is rarely possible in a studio.
The exhibition opens on Wednesday 9th October at 2pm and closes on Wednesday 16th October at 12 noon, with a ‘Meet the Artist’ and friends session, on Saturday afternoon, for drinks etc. although I will try to visit the gallery each day. I would love to meet you, and am always happy to talk about my work.

My followers know that I love to spend lots of time out in nature. I might be in the woods, a forest, on a muddy river bank. Wherever I am you’ll find me sketching or painting, trying to capture the beauties of nature, directly from life. I try to record the vagaries of the weather, the changing light of day, and even the smells that engulf me.
I aim to record all this and to add how I feel about the place and the moment.
If you love nature and art, you’ll want to follow me and see what I produce.
Join my mail list and I’ll send you exhibition sneak previews, seasonal discounts, and the latest news, straight from the woods!
