It will soon be Exhibition time again and I have been busy ‘preparing’ new works for the various exhibitions I’ll be taking part in. See the list of exhibitions here.
News from the artists studio . The first and hardest task is to select the works which would best be displayed in frames. Then I choose ones which would suit being mounted and wrapped in cellophane for the browsers. These allow for a variety of prices to suit all pockets.
Then there are all the mounts to be cut cleanly and bevelled, and I prefer to make double mounts. These have a thin slip of a suitable coloured mount showing behind the top cream board. The framed works then have to be set in their frames and sealed. Those for the browsers are backed with card and wrapped in cellophane. Everything then needs to be labelled, and priced, ready for each exhibition. Finally, the hanging cords and labels are fixed.
