I have been tweaking this web site!
Among my recent activities in the studio, I have been trying to bring this site into the 21st century. It is a very time consuming task which needs to be done, with the minimum of ‘down time’. The grey and cold days of winter are ideal. I’m also teaching myself how to make short videos which will be helpful to show snippets of my studio and outdoor painting activities.
So here is a quick demo in watercolour of a view at Pontoise in France, painted many times by Camille Pissarro. If you’d like more of these, don’t forget to subscribe!
Another task for the colder weather is to decide where and when to paint once the weather improves. First, I’m off to Cornwall again, this time to the North coast, near Padstow, where I’ll concentrate on watercolour, in the company of Grahame Booth who is a master of his craft and an excellent tutor. This was one of my recent activities in the studio.
Then later in July, I have been accepted into the UK’s major juried ‘plein air’ competition, Paint Out Norfolk! It will be a delight to be painting each day, in all weathers, with some of the uk’s finest artists. The week ends with a selling exhibition, and prize giving for the best works, created during the week.
So watch this space, who knows, I may even manage some filming for you!
