How to survive lockdown? What I did,

Wells next the Sea, Norfolk Painting

How to survive lockdown? Here are some recent watercolours for you,

Here are some boats at rest, sitting on the mud, waiting patiently for their owners to return. I painted these during our lockdown, based on views seen on my last visit to Norfolk, and following a recent online course by Grahame Booth. (Click here) to read about it.

I have been using some super hand made paper by Two Rivers and love its weight and texture. It is a real treat to use, if you can forget about it’s cost. See Storm Clouds over Cliffs end, right, or dog walker on coastal path and across the fields below.

Another Norfolk scene here at right, is at ‘Wells next the Sea’ on the north coast, which I love for its old industrial buildings.
And below, ‘Taking a rest’ is an excuse to paint more trees. Click on any photos for more details.

And i’ll leave you this time with an old favourite,  a couple on their way home trying to avoid the muddy puddles. I have spent many hours in the past looking for suitable puddles to paint after the rain.

If you found this useful, here is a video I made painting a watercolour, from start to finish, take a look over my shoulder, and have a go yourself.

This is how I survived lockdown, trying to keep busy drawing and painting from earlier sketches, notes, and photographs. Do let me know if there is any art topic you would like me to write about.
