Do you have happy memories of seaside holidays, on the beach? Seaside Holidays, Summer holidays remembered exhibition
This exhibition is just for you! A reminder of those happy childhood memories! These paintings were all created specially to jog those happy memories. Painted on our local beaches, including, Westgate on Sea, St Mildred’s Bay, Margate main sands and others, under the hot late summer sun. Brushes and Ice cream at the ready!
I am just about to visit a favourite place to paint, in North Wales, Snowdonia to be precise. This time I will be based at Dolgellau, to the south of the highest mountains. I will also visit Great Malvern, in Worcestershire, for a day painting in a ‘plein air’ competition.
I havent completely forgotten about boats and the sea, the subject of my last exhibition, ‘The Call of the Sea’, so here is a boat being prepared for sail at Mousehole in Cornwall, another favourite painting spot. And here are some bluebells for all you nature lovers and walkers and an announcement that my main theme for 2024 is woodlands and forests.
I hope to meet many of you at this exhibition in Westgate on Sea in June. Lets hope for some good weather.
I’ll leave you with some fabulous Redwood Trees, seen on a visit to Longleat forest recently. I made several paintings of these trees, which will feature in my big November exhibition. My theme is Trees in nature.
